This paper describes composition and principles of VG PRIMA δB process mass spectrometers, and elaborates a practical application for Basic Oxygen Steelmaking and Electric Arc Furnace. Also typical precise of gas components analysis is provided. The process mass spectrometer is able to perform faster and reliable multiple components analysis with different gas flow, also it can be connected to DCS system via a multi-protocol interface. It has been widely used for many important gas analysis applications in iron and steel plants.
