Abstract
The crosstalk in electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) structure is investigated in this paper. It is found that the crosstalk noise in EBG structure is worse than that in reference plane. More energy would be coupled to the victim line by the slots of EBG structure, which seriously affects the signal quality with high date rate, the near-end and far-end crosstalk coupling noise are increased by 10dB and 20dB respectively. It is clearly shown that the crosstalk noise decreases with the space increasing between traces, but it is still larger than that of the reference plane with one time line width. A useful method for reducing the crosstalk coupling noise is presented in this paper.
