Abstract :
In the integral schedule of BOF/continuous casting/hot rolling, the determination of the characteristics to be possessed by the slab, particularly its width, is the first step. We propose a two-phase algorithm to tackle this problem with some ideas from statistics. Simulation results show its superiority in the quality of solution over the other heuristics, we think it is one promising method
