Abstract :
This paper investigates development of fault detection and isolation (FDI) filters for overactuated systems. Due to input channels coupling effects and dependencies in overactuated systems, the necessary condition for applying geometric FDI approaches is not satisfied. In this work a geometric FDI approach for linear systems is extended to overactuated systems. The proposed method is applied to an F-18 HARV aircraft and simulation results presented demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method for FDI of overactuated systems.
