Abstract
Presents an analytical model for predicting the response time of tasks in a heterogeneous system with load sharing. The model is general and can be used to evaluate the performance of any algorithm and any system configuration as long as task transfer decisions are based on the load levels of the sending and receiving processors. The methodology is applied to three load sharing algorithms in a system comprised of processors with different speeds
