Abstract
This paper reports a hybrid integrated eighth-order harmonic mixer operating in W band. The design is based on an antiparallel diode pair which serves as the active device. The design utilizes commercially available components and is compact and easy to fabricate. The mixer achieves a conversion loss of 36 dB ± 6 dB across a frequency range of 80-105 GHz at a typical LO power of 10 dBm and a fixed IF frequency of 1 GHz. The mixer may find applications in millimeter wave measurement systems, such as vector network analyzers.
