Abstract :
In this paper, effects of permittivity and loss of dielectric spacer on performance of Hilbert curve array absorbers are investigated numerically. A bi-infinite resistive Hilbert curve array separated by a dielectric spacer from PEC ground plane was simulated using HFSS. Frequency range chosen was from 6 GHz to 18 GHz. Simulation was carried out with values of spacer permittivity equal to 0.1, 1, 2, and 4. Absorbers were then analyzed numerically for effect of spacer loss. Simulation was repeated for spacer conductivities of 0.1 and 1 Sm-1. From Simulated results it was observed that best performance is achieved with vacuum as spacer.
