Abstract :
An overview of in-service monitoring (ISM) is given, and methods for using ISM to estimate customer service quality are discussed. The results of the study indicate that ISM at the customer service rate and at higher transmission rates can be used for estimating customer service quality. Potential applications to ISDN (integrated services digital network) services are proposed
