Abstract
A 3D map, like its predecessors the 2D paper and 2D digital maps is a tool to describe spatial information. The 3D map representation of spatial entities is designed to be easily understandable and not necessarily photo-realistic. View-dependent rendering techniques enhance performance and image understanding.
