Abstract :
In this work, for the first time, a miniaturized printed antenna using a planar Mobius strip bisected along the circumferential direction for 2.4 GHz is presented. The Mobius strip increases the circumferential length of the antenna with the same radius as that of the conventional ring antenna. This characteristic of the Mobius strip realizes miniaturization of the the physical dimension of antenna along with maintaining the same resonant frequency. This miniaturization is theoretically proved by using the Mobius topology. Radiation pattern of the proposed antenna can be comparable to that of dipole antenna at the far field region, and 10 dB return loss bandwidth is about 500 MHz. The proposed antenna can be applied for requiring of a low operating frequency and minimization system. The proposed method for miniaturization can be applied to other circuitry such as resonators, oscillators, and filters
