Abstract :
Circuit designers and tool developers must cooperate to enable the development of large integrated systems. However, both sides approach the actual design task from different perspectives which may result in problems ranging from simple misunderstanding to assigning blame for delayed schedules and failed projects. Often, designers think tool people are solving the wrong problems and only want to write papers, whereas tool developers believe designers are asking for too much, have no clue about NP-completeness, and are just too stupid to use their great programs. This panel discusses the relationship between designers and tool people and attempt to propose innovative solutions to existing problems
