Abstract :
We investigate the broadband amplification characteristics of tellurite-based EDFAs by measuring signal excited-state absorption cross-sections and signal gain spectra. The results indicate that the tellurite-based EDFAs operate up to 1634 nm in the longer wavelength region. In addition, we confirm the feasibility of 0.98 μm pumping for tellurite-based EDFAs
