  • Abstract
    We report novel simulations of mesh transport networks, comparing the use of wavelength selective and wavelength interchanging cross-connects. The results identify conditions of network functionality that benefit from using wavelength interchange, and assess the critical role played by the wavelength multiplicity in the network design
