Abstract :
Bit-synchronous modulation is one of the key technologies in time-division-multiplexed (TDM) optical transmission systems. A novel 10 Gb/s RZ transmitter configuration is discussed. Automatic time delay control schemes are indispensable for bit-synchronous modulation. The proposed automatic delay control (ADC) schemes use feedback control together with feedforward control. Using these schemes, high SNR of 31 dB and clear eye-opening of 10 ps pulses were achieved over a wide temperature range
