Abstract
A new heterodyne receiving mode, which utilizes an integrated transceiver operated under counter-mixing scheme, is experimentally demonstrated. Preliminary results of a full-duplex coherent transmission system based on this new scheme are reported. In this paper, we report the results of the operating characteristics of a novel heterodyne detection scheme. It utilizes an integrated transceiver with signals counter-mixing with the local oscillator laser beam. Preliminary results of a proposed single-fiber full-duplex transmission system based on this new detection scheme are demonstrated
