Abstract
An easy-to-deploy and cost-effective efficient platform for realizing location-aware (sentient) networking is extremely challenging. The sentient networking framework would need to be based on smart platform based integration of embedded systems that would need to be inherently efficient in terms of cost, complexity, operating characteristics and processing smartness in terms of sensing and data interpretation. One of the main hurdles that have prevented the wide-spread deployment of sentient-enabling platforms has been the difficulty to co-exist with non-communicative and unsupportive devices. In this paper, we show a content-driven ultra-wideband (UWB) based node platform design that helps in seamless location-aware networking and can takes into consideration the element of multi-radio co-existence.
