Abstract
A method of curve fitting for bending or distortion of shaft axis is described. The method involves in selecting a measuring method, finding the center of each sampling section on the axis from the measured data using the least square analysis, performing curve fitting on all centers with the cubic spline function, and, finally, determining the location of the maximum bending point, phase angle, and the value of maximum bending. Validation of the method with real shafts is also carried out.
