Abstract :
A contingency model of end-user computing (EUC) management effectiveness which applies a theoretical framework from innovation management research to relevant prior management information system (MIS) research is presented. Exploratory field interviews and the resulting revisions of the model are discussed. Preliminary validation of the model for user application development (UAD) by non-MS personnel utilizing micro, mini, and/or mainframe computer technologies (UAD) is obtained from field study data collected from two organizational informants reporting high levels and two reporting low levels of UAD management effectiveness
