Abstract
In this paper, the subwavelength corrugated grooves and conventional artificial periodic grooves are integrated and applied in the slots array antenna. The radiation performance of the designed antenna is investigated, and simulation results show that the gain is significantly improved and the backward radiation is largely suppressed. The relation of the antenna gain with groove number is studied. It is found that there is a saturation value of the groove number corresponding to the maximum gain and this value also has a relation with the exciting sources number. Furthermore, the drawbacks of this kind of corrugated slot antenna are discussed and some prospects are given for future development of the corrugated structure in the antenna field.
