Abstract
Recently, the synthesis strategy using mesoporous silica as templates has opened up a new route to ordered nanoporous carbons with various pore shapes, diameters, connectivity, and pore wall thickness. These nanoporous carbons designated to as CMK-n exhibit highly resolved Bragg X-ray diffraction (XRD) lines characteristic of the ordered arrangement of nanopores, similar to the MCM-41-type silica materials that are used as the synthesis template. The CMK carbons provide new possibilities for applications in the research field of mesoporous and microporous carbons, ranging from the fundamental studies of carbons to the adsorption and catalysis.
