Abstract :
In the 1980s Sadegh-Zadeh opened the door to use fuzzy systems concepts in Analytical Philosophy of Medicine. He demonstrated that the concepts of health, illness, and disease “are not amenable to classical logic”, he rejected the conceptual opposition that an individual could be either healthy or ill, and he created a new approach toward a theoretical framework of these concepts. He proclaimed a “Goodbye to the Aristotelian Weltanschauung”, he published “The Prototype Resemblance Theory of Disease” and his new Handbook of Analytical Philosophy of Medicine where he introduced also the structuralist view on scientific theories into his philosophical framework. This paper gives an introduction in this view on Analytical Philosophy of Medicine and an outlook to its so-called Fuzzy extension.
