Abstract :
Pool boiling heat transfer of copper foam with single-directional and crossing V-shaped groove at the pore density of 130 PPI are investigated experimentally. Boiling curves are obtained by the data acquisition unit and boiling patterns are recorded by a high-speed cameral and the bubble group diameter and growth frequency are analyzed. It is found that V-shaped groove can significantly enhance the pool boiling heat transfer performance of copper foam with high pore density and the groove with the width of 2 mm shows the best boiling heat enhancement. Generally speaking, crossing V-shaped groove enhancement is better than single-directional groove, and bubbles group growth frequency increases with increasing of heat flux.
