  • Abstract
    In this paper a novel left-handed metamaterial composed of S-shaped and Spiral resonator and conducting double wires is proposed. This structure shows a controllable wide, low-loss DNG band with reduced electrical size of the unit cell, which makes it be considered as a homogeneous effective media. The structure is simple, readily scalable to other frequencies and compatible with low-cost fabrication techniques. The negative refraction index and other constitutive parameters are obtained by simulation and parameter retrieval algorithm.
