Abstract :
Finite difference method and Castelli method are employed to solve dynamic Reynolds equation with oil rupture boundary and to establish single pad database of nonlinear oil film forces. Based on the database, the law of swing angle of tilting-pads of five-pad tilting-pad journal bearing with definite deviation angle is analyzed by Newton iteration method. Numerical Results show that swing angle is related to eccentricity, pre-loading and clearance ratio. To certain bearing parameters, the swing angles of tilting-pads increase with approximate linear relation or increase at first and then decrease with the increase of eccentricity. The swing angles of tilting-pads increase or decrease in accordance with approximate linear relation when clearance ratio increases.
