Abstract :
According to the advantages and disadvantages of one widely used Carrier Phase-Shifted SPWM method in cascaded STATCOM, an optimization Carrier Phase-Shifted strategy is proposed in this paper. The principle and characteristics of this strategy is analyzed and in order to compare the performance of these two strategies, simulation is done with MATLAB. Simulation results show that the proposed strategy still maintains the characteristic of less harmonics content in the premise of reducing 1/3 switching frequency, as well as improves utilization of the DC voltage, and company with suitable voltage balance control method, DC capacitance voltage balance could be obtained as well as before optimization.
