  • Abstract
We present in this paper a method of focusing optics, based on image content analysis. This technique operates on digital video images and applies a DCT on pixels. The optimal adjustment of camera lens and the aperture of the diaphragm is given by evaluation parameters processed in the DCT domain. First of all, a short view of auto-focusing method based on scene propriety estimation is presented. Our automatic method is than described and a specific hardware implementation is presented. The prototype was built with an architecture using two processors, a dedicated digital signal processor and a programmable one
