Abstract :
Mathematical morphology has produced an important class of non-linear filters. Unfortunately, few design methods exist for these filters. Those existing tending to be computationally intractable or require some expert knowledge of mathematical morphology. The paper describes research into methods by which different classes of morphological filters can be designed by employing genetic algorithms
