Abstract :
Generalized matrix representations for cascaded waveguide discontinuities are derived from the mode-matching analysis. A single waveguide discontinuity is modeled as an ideal transformer, and the two-step cascaded waveguide discontinuities, classified as three types: iris, stub and transformer, are analytically modeled as a generalized impedance matrix, a generalized admittance matrix, and a generalized hybrid matrix, respectively, which requires no matrix inversion. Numerical examples are presented to verify our formulations.
