Abstract :
Devices such as transformers, electric motors, chokes and relays rely heavily on magnetics. The ability to measure the magnetic characteristics of these devices or their core materials is a necessity for any organization engaged in their design or production. In any situation where the magnetic properties of a material or device determine its successful operation, certain tools can be indispensable, whether for guaranteeing the quality of outgoing or incoming materials, or facilitating the production or R&D process. The voltmeter, ohmmeter and inductance bridge offer some ability to evaluate the properties of these devices and materials, but they are limited in their scope and require calculation and interpretation. This paper presents a brief discussion on the use of the automatic hysteresisgraph, or BH analyzer for accurately measuring the complete magnetic hysteresis curve of a device or material
