Abstract
This paper presents a new simulation algorithm for obtaining the characteristics of switching converters, which can perform both fast and accurate calculations by employing averaged state transition matrices. The procedure to derive those matrices is described, which is suited for the computer programming. The steady state analysis and the small signal AC dynamic analysis are described and several techniques for the fast calculation are introduced. The simulation program using the proposed method has been developed and demonstrated with an active clamped saturable core controlled converter. Simulation results are verified by experiments
