Abstract
The authors investigate an approach to separate time-variant and time-invariant regions in a sector-scan sonar image sequence in both the time and frequency domains. By combining time domain and frequency domain methods, the merging region between the moving and static objects in a sequence of sonar images can be segmented. This method is useful not only for image segmentation but also for object tracking
