Abstract :
Wavelength agile and multi-wavelength sources will be necessary for the next generation WDM systems to perform optical networking functions and to lower the cost per wavelength channel. We will discuss various approaches to build such sources based on the integration of passive optical components together with optical amplifiers and lasers
