Abstract :
This paper presents an architecture and design of a solution for virtual instrumentation in SCADA systems. The aim of this approach is to propose a way to design virtual instrumentation based on software components, which ensures uniform, consistent and extensible access to the functions of the SCADA hardware components. Based on the proposed solution service-oriented application programming interface architecture is developed. One of the main purposes of the present work is to design an instrumentation system usable for monitoring and control of network capable devices that constitute a SCADA system. In the present paper, the advantages and future directions of the proposed platform is presented.
