Abstract
Gain coupled DFB lasers that operate over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range have been characterised for reflection sensitivity. Spectral and polarisation immunity has been observed up to -14 dB optical return loss over the entire temperature range. The lowest threshold current for uncooled DFBs of only 17 mA at 85°C is reported
