Abstract :
The performance of a novel non-zero dispersion-shifted large effective area fiber in a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system is described. Error-free transmission for 8×10 Gbit/s in the red band and 4×10 Gbit/s in the blue band over 450 km (5×90 km) is achieved. No four-wave mixing components were observed due to the large effective area of LEAFTM fiber
