Abstract
Material constants of artificial dielectrics are measured using the waveguide reflection and transmission methods for the first time. Relative permittivity has taken the value of around 10 in good agreement with the simulated value for the most densely packed spherical metal particles. Relative permeability, on the other hand, has been found less than unity, due to Lentz law as was expected by the theoretical calculations.
