Abstract :
A combined adaptive routine performance analysis and capacity assignment problem is treated. A fast store and forward network with a movable boundary type access channel between the nodes is assumed. Attention is given to a combined adaptive routing-capacity assignment algorithm which is based on the estimated distribution of voice and data traffic for all possible routes between source and destination. The smoothing effects of implied flow control are shown to eliminate the typical problem of data buffer buildup during voice peak loads
