Abstract :
The author describes how the general legislation covering the safety of electrical installations in UK work places is contained in the Health and Safety at Work (HSW) Act 1974. Section 2 of the Act is particularly relevant, and Section 3 is relevant where persons who are not employed may be affected by the electrical installation. He details how the HSW Act may be considered as the overarching legislation, supported by a range of subsidiary and more specific regulations
