Abstract :
This paper presents a theoretical study of the impact of filtered amplified spontaneous emission noise and signal distortion on the performance of a cascade of wavelength add-drop multiplexers (WADM). Analysis and computer simulation are used to determine the maximum allowable laser and filter misalignments in order to maintain a bit error rate lower than 10-9
