Abstract :
1.3 μm tapered active stripe lasers have been developed for obtaining high slope efficiency and reducing the output beam divergence. The slope efficiency as high as 0.46 W/A is obtained for a front facet of uncoated LDs. The output power ratio of front to rear facets can be controlled by tailoring the nontaper length in two sectional active geometry without additional coating process
