Abstract :
A drastic change will happen on seepage field of earth-rock dam in heavy rains, which may cause seepage damage and instability. So it has important significance to correctly analyze the change rule of seepage field of earth-rock dam in heavy rains, and rationally evaluate the safety of earth-rock dam during rainstorm period. Based on porous media and unsaturated transient seepage theory, this paper describes that unsteady seepage changes into stable seepage in earth-rock dam by using the finite element method to simulate the transient seepage field in heavy rains. At the same time, it also analyzes the factors of rainfall intensity and rainfall duration which will influence the seepage field of earth-rock dam, then concludes the change rules of seepage field of earth-rock dam in heavy rains.
