Abstract :
This paper presents an image compression system that compresses an image based on the color characteristics of the image. After performing color analysis on the image, best algorithm is selected from different compression algorithms (EZW, SPIHT, WDR and ASWDR). Results for compression for different wavelets based on number of colors in an image are discussed.
