Abstract
Microwave over-the-horizon propagation on the sea is very valuable for some applications such as radar detection and communication with long distance. Evaporation ducts and troposphere scatter conditions of microwave over-the-horizon propagation environments on the sea are analyzed. The requirements of the antenna gain for over-the-horizon microwave communications systems as an example under different conditions are calculated.
