Abstract
A bit-rate-independent regenerator that has a 3R function (reshaping, retiming and regenerating) for 10 Gb/s, 2.4 Gb/s, and 622 Mb/s has been realized for the first time. The regenerator is composed of wideband receiver and transmitter circuits operating up to 10 Gb/s, a bit-rate detection circuit, and an automatic synchronized clock generation circuit. Good receiver sensitivities below -31.7 dBm have been confirmed for each bit-rate
