Abstract :
This paper describes data-aided signal level and noise variance estimators for GMSK using a linear receiver based on the Laurent AMP representation. The estimators are based on the maximum likelihood principle. The variances of these estimators are shown to satisfy the Cramer-Rao bound and hence are efficient estimators. Simulation results are included to confirm the performance of the estimators.
