Abstract :
A compact linear array is presented featuring beam scanning with simple ferrite microstrip phase shifters. The advantage of this system over other ferrite devices is the small variable bias field necessary. Permanent magnets are combined with electromagnets to achieve beam steering of 30° for drive currents of about 2 A. An alternative implementation in a stripline is also considered
