Abstract :
A method for the scattering prediction of large but finite sized phased array antennas is presented. The method employs the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method for infinitely periodic structures and a Fourier windowing technique. The method presented allows for more efficient analysis than simply modelling the entire array especially as the array size increases. The validity of the method is compared to a method of moments analysis in terms of both its accuracy and efficiency. This paper describes the proposed method and detailed results are given
