Research on college students´ need for online learning

By using the self-made questionnaire and with students from five colleges in Shanghai and Zhejiang participating in the survey, this research explores college students´ need for online learning. The results show that: (1) according to the degree of importance, college students´ need for online learning could be ordered as follows: the need for teacher´s guidance, the need for school´s guarantee, the need for online learning peer support, and the need for hardware facilities; (2) with regard to the need for hardware facilities and the support from their peers, male students´ requirement was higher than female students´; (3) there were significant differences between students from cities and from rural areas in need for hardware facilities and teacher´s guidance; (4) there were significant differences between different majors in the need for peer support.
