  • Abstract
Stators have traditionally been wound using equipment which winds coils in small loops and then, either manually or mechanically, the loops are “pushed” into the stator slots. However a new design of stator has emerged which allows the stator to be wound like a regular toroidal core. Unfortunately regular toroidal coil winding machines are not capable of winding stators. Therefore it was necessary to develop equipment to wind these stators cost-effectively, with precision and consistent quality. The author describes this new equipment
