Abstract
A new approach for analysis and minimization of harmonics on the input and output sides of three-phase current-type AC/DC PWM converters is proposed in this paper. The proposed approach is based on the dual relationships between voltage-type and current-type three-phase PWM converters. Analysis results show that analysis and control methods that have been developed for voltage-type PWM converters can also be applied to the current-type ones. By using the proposed approach, the harmonics on the input and output sides of current-type PWM converters can be calculated easily without using a conventional Fourier series approach which is time consuming and complex. The analysis results are useful in designing the input and output sides filters
